Amazon.com - no more Post-Order Price Guarantee

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere else, sorry if I'm late to the party..

At the bottom of an e-mail responding to a Post-Order Price Guarantee claim I made at Amazon.com yesterday was the following:

Quote:
Only orders placed before September 1, 2008 are eligible for a price difference refund under the Post-Order Price Guarantee policy. As of September 1, 2008 we are no longer offering discounts if prices change on our website after you make a purchase.
Not sure if this extends to Amazon.co.uk or not..

Pretty silly really given you can cancel and re-order.

I think this is referring to the scheme that had where if the price of an item dropped within 30 days of it shipping to you, you could claim a refund of the difference.

^^ yes - this ties in with anastasia's post here, where they appear to be closing accounts that (rightly or wrongly) are non-profitable - http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/s...d.php?t=516602

I think it does apply to the UK site as well, as they've removed any mention of it from this page, which is where it used to be listed.

Looks like it.

I wonder how many people ended up getting money back from that Star Trek HD DVD boxset. It must have cost Amazon a fortune.

Typical. Just when I learn of this marvellous feature (and get back a few quid ) they ditch it. Can't blame them though.
